  • Small Business COVID19 Relief Package SB2772 (Powerpoint) - On May 1, 2020, the Mississippi Legislature convened to transfer $1.25B  into an account controlled by the Legislature. However, the Legislature ended up transferring $1.15 billion and left $100 million at the discretion of the Governor to use in case an immediate expenditure needed to be made. The The Legislature passed a $300M small business relief package to provide economic support to eligible Mississippi businesses for costs incurred in connection with COVID-19. 

PUBLIC LETTERS

  • Letter to Dr. Thomas Dobbs MDHS COVID19 -  On March 29, 2020, Representative Jeramey Anderson wrote a letter on behalf of the people of Moss Point and the 110th House District.  The letter detailed the critical situation unfolding in the City of Moss Point, which at the time had nearly half of Jackson County's identified cases of Covid-19.

  • Letter to Governor Reeves - Masks COVID19 -  On July 9, 2020, Representative Jeramey Anderson wrote a letter to the Governor requesting that he issue an Executive Order requiring that masks be worn in public areas where physical distancing is not possible.  The letter detailed the critical situation unfolding around the state regarding our overwhelmed hospitals due to the spike in COVID19 cases.

  • Letter to Mayors King & Demetropoulos - Masks COVID19 -  On October 1, 2020, Representative Jeramey Anderson wrote a letter to the Mayors King (Moss Point) & Demotropolus (Pascagoula) requesting that they extend or issue executive orders mandating that masks be worn in their respective cities to reduce the spread of COVID-19 as we enter these crucial fall months.  The letter detailed the critical situation unfolding around the country regarding the spike in COVID19 cases as we enter the colder months.

  • Letter to Mayors Byrd & Demetropoulos - Masks COVID19 -  On March 2, 2021, Representative Jeramey Anderson wrote a letter to Mayors Byrd (Moss Point) & Demotropolus (Pascagoula) requesting that they not remove their mask mandates following the expiring order by the Governor. It is true that we have new tools to help fight COVID that were not available to us last year like several vaccines and additional therapeutic drugs, however until more of our constituents are vaccinated, we all remain at a severe risk. Please consider the many unknown variants that continue to develop domestically and abroad. 

  • Letter to Mayor Byrd - Legislative Aid -  On March 30, 2021, Representative Jeramey Anderson wrote a letter to Mayor Byrd (Moss Point) regarding state aid for economic development being sent to the City of Moss Point through various 2022 appropriations for the State of Mississippi for FY22.

  • Letter to Mayors Knight, Willis & Jackson County - Masks COVID19 -  On August 11, 2021, Representative Jeramey Anderson wrote a letter to Mayors Knight (Moss Point), Willis (Pascagoula) & the Jackson County Government requesting that they issue executive orders mandating that masks be worn in their respective jurisdictions to reduce the spread of COVID-19.  The letter detailed the critical situation unfolding around the country regarding the spike in COVID19 cases and the Delta Variant.
